Ingredients:

  • 1/3 cup red lentil
  • 1/3 cup split peas
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp butter
  • 1/4 small onion, sliced
  • 1/4 small tomato, sliced
  • 1 1/2 tsp cumin

Directions:

  1. Boil lentils, split peas, turmeric, and salt in water until lentils are soft.
  2. In separate pan, heat oil and butter. Add cumin (be careful, they may spit oil) Add onion, garlic and tomato and fry until onion is golden. Add oil mixture to lentils.
  3. Serve hot.
