Mama's Stewed Okra (Curtis Aikens2)

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb okra , remove bottoms
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 1/2 tbsp butter
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • salt and pepper to taste

Directions:

  1. In a large pan, cover okra with water, add butter, soda and baking powder. Bring to a boil and then simmer for approximately 10 to 15 minutes.
