Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 3 1/2 cups flour

Directions:

  1. Beat eggs, cream, and milk together.
  2. Add sugar.
  3. Sift baking powder, salt and flour and add to mixture to make a soft dough.
  4. Roll out on floured board.
  5. Cut into rectangles about 2 1/4 by 4 1/2 inches.
  6. Cut a slit in kuechla the long way.
  7. Flip one end through the slit.
  8. Drop into hot oil and fry like doughnuts.
  9. Drain on paper towels.
  10. Once cooled you can coat with sugar or powdered sugar.
