Homemade Pizza Dough

Ingredients:

  • 2 (1/4 oz) packages yeast (2-4 tsp)
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp garlic salt
  • 1 1/2 cups warm water

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 475.
  2. Combine sugar and 1/2 cup of 100-110 degree water, and yeast, mix well and wait 5 minutes for yeast to activate.
  3. In large mixing bowl combine remaining ingredients, mix with fork until all the liquid is absorbed.
  4. Place a handful of flour on counter top and empty contents of bowl onto the flour.
  5. Knead dough for 8-10 minutes until texture is smooth and uniform. If the dough feels sticky add a little flour and continue to knead.
  6. Place dough in a bowl and drizzle with olive oil. Place bowl in a draft free area and cover with a cloth.
  7. Let the dough rise for about an hour, punch down and wait another 45 minutes.
  8. Use your hands to dust a rolling pin and shape dough on a floured mixing surface. Until dough is desired shape.
  9. Grease a cooking stone with more olive oil.
  10. Assemble favorite pizza toppings.
  11. Bake at 475 for 17-19 minutes.
