Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Mix flour (or corn starch) with sugar in med. stove top pot
  2. In a small saucepan, scald milk (heat to almost boiling. watch crefully, milk will boil over immediately after reaching boiling temp).
  3. Gradually add scalded milk to dry ingredients, mixing well
  4. Cook over moderate heat, stirring constantly until mixture thickens and boils
  5. Remove from heat
  6. Add small amount of mixture to egg yolks and mix together
  7. Add yolks to pudding mixture, return to heat and cook approximately 1 minute longer
  8. Remove from heat, stir in butter and vanilla
  9. Layer in glass casserole dish: wafers, sliced bananas, pudding, wafers, sliced bananas, pudding
  10. Top with a few vanilla wafer crumbs
