High Protein Breadsticks

Ingredients:

  • 1/3 package fast rise yeast
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 3/8 cup soy flour (deffated)
  • 1/8 cup warm water
  • 1/8 cup fat-free margarine or 1/8 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 tbsp parsley or 1/4 tbsp caraway seeds or 1/4 tbsp poppy seeds or 1/4 tbsp coarse salt

Directions:

  1. In a bowl, combine yeast, salt, and half of the flour.
  2. Stir in very warm water, beat vigorously.
  3. Stir in oil or butter.
  4. Put flour on slightly floured surface and knead until smooth and elastic.
  5. Mix in the rest of the flour to keep dough from sticking.
  6. Cover dough with plastic wrap and let it sit for 10 minutes.
  7. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  8. Divide dough into 10 equal pieces.
  9. Shape each into a 10-12 inch rope.
  10. Sprinkle each rope with seasonings.
  11. Place ropes one inch apart on a cookie sheet and bake about 20 minutes or until golden and crisp.
