Hawaiian Coconut Shrimp With Sweet and Sour Soy Sauce

Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Mix flour, sea salt and pepper on a large plate.
  2. Lightly beat egg whites in a medium bowl.
  3. Spread coconut on another large plate.
  4. Dip shrimp in flour then in egg whites.
  5. Roll each shrimp in coconut until well covered.
  6. Heat lard in a large cast-iron skillet over medium high heat and fry shrimp until browned and crispy, about 5 minutes on each side.
  7. Soy Sauce:.
  8. Mix all ingredients and stir until sugar is dissolved.
  9. Makes 1 cup.
  10. Serve shrimp with sweet and sour soy sauce.
