Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Mix onions, tomatoes and peppers in a large bowl. Sprinkle 1/2 cup canning salt over all. Let stand in fridge overnight - rinse and drain well in the morning.
  2. Add the celery seed, turmeric, sugar, vinegar and water to tomato mixture in a large pot. Simmer contents of pot on stove until thick - about 2 hours.
  3. Spoon hot mixture into jars (you will need at least 6 to 8 pint jars) - use a slotted spoon to take out bubbles. Don't add too much juice!
  4. Use a knife to get additional air bubbles out of jars before sealing. Put jars into a hot water bath for 20 minutes.
