Ingredients:

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1 teas. vanilla extract
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 teas. baking soda
  • after baking :1/4 cup sugar and 1teas. cinnamon , mixed together

Directions:

  1. Mix shortening,sugar and egg,will
  2. Stir in buttermilk,and vanilla extract
  3. Sift dry ingred.together,then stir into,the above.
  4. Chill the mixture,for several hours (I usually chill overnight)so as to blend the flavors
  5. Drop onto a lightly greased cookie sheet,by teaspoon,allowing about 2 apart,they spread while baking.
  6. Bake at 400 degree for 8 to 10 minutes,but not brown
  7. Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon mixture when you remove them from the oven.
  8. Enjoy
