Ingredients:

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • your favorite frosting

Directions:

  1. Cream shortening and sugar.
  2. Add egg and vanilla; beat well.
  3. Sift flour, baking powder, salt, nutmeg and cinnamon.
  4. Alternately add dry ingredients with milk to creamed mixture.
  5. Fill greased or paper-lined muffin tins 2/3 full.
  6. Bake at 350ºF for 20 to 30 minutes.
  7. Cool and frost with your favorite frosting.
