Ingredients:

  • 1-9 in pie crusts(unbaked ) regular or graham
  • 3/4 cup sugar(white )
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 2 1/2 cup scalded milk
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 3 drop yellow food coloring(optional)

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400*(350* for Graham cracker crust). Mix together eggs, sugar, salt, and vanilla. Stir well. Blend in scalded milk. For more color add 3 drops yellow food coloring(optional). Line pan with pastry and brush inside bottom and sides with egg white(only regular crust) to help prevent a soggy crust. Pour custard mixture into pie crust, sprikle with nutmeg. Bake 30-35 minutes or until knife inserted near center comes out clean. Cool and serve with whipped topping or ice cream.
