Ingredients:

  • 1 cup butter
  • 1/4 tsp. almond extract
  • 3/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 1 cup flour
  • frosting
  • 2 tbsp. butter
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/4 tsp. almond extract
  • cream or milk
  • food coloring, if desired

Directions:

  1. Cream butter.
  2. Add sugar gradually.
  3. Beat in almond extract.
  4. Combine dry ingredients.
  5. Blend into butter mixture.
  6. Chill.
  7. Shape level teaspoons of dough into balls.
  8. Bake on ungreased sheets at 375 degrees for 10 min.
  9. Cool.
  10. Frost with frosting.
  11. For frosting, melt butter in saucepan.
  12. Remove from heat; Stir in sugar and flavorings.
  13. Add cream or milk to make frosting of spreading ability.
  14. Tint with food coloring if desired.
