Fried Chocolate Chimichangas

Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Fill a medium saucepan or deep-fryer 1/3 full of
  2. Vegetable oil and heat to 365°F.
  3. Warm tortillas in a tortilla warmer, or wrap in foil
  4. And bake at 350°F for 3 to 4 minutes (this will make
  5. Them easier to roll without cracking). Place tortillas
  6. On a cutting board or flat surface and spoon 1/4 cup
  7. Of the chocolate morsels into the middle of the
  8. Tortilla.
  9. Fold 1/3 of the sides of the tortilla into the center.
  10. Bring the bottom edge of the tortilla over the
  11. Filling, roll to enclose the filling, and secure with
  12. Toothpicks.
  13. Carefully lower one into the oil and deep-fry for 2
  14. Minutes, or until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
  15. Repeat with remaining tortillas and chocolate. To
  16. Serve, cut the chimichangas in half diagonally, and
  17. Arrange on a plate. Dust with powdered sugar to serve.
  18. Notes: You can use a chocolate candy bar, broken into
  19. Pieces for the filling, if desired.
