Ingredients:

  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2/3 cup shortening
  • 3/4 cup buttermilk

Directions:

  1. Heat oven to 425*F.
  2. In large bowl combine flour, baking powder and salt. cut in shortening until crumbly.
  3. Stir in buttermilk just until moistened.
  4. Turn dough onto lightly floured surface; knead until smooth.
  5. Roll out dough to 3/4 thickness.
  6. Cut into 8 (2 ) biscuits, place 1 apart on cookie sheet.
  7. Bake for 10 to 14 minutes or until lightly browned.
