Ingredients:

  • 2 cups milk
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tbsp white syrup ( karo)
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 lb prune
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla

Directions:

  1. Poppyseed filling:.
  2. Bring 2 cups milk to a boil.
  3. Stir in poppyseed.
  4. Let simmer 20 minutes stirring constantly.
  5. Add sugar, white syrup and salt.
  6. Let simmer 3 more minutes.
  7. Remove from heat and add almond extract, butter and vanilla.
  8. Let cool.
  9. Prune filling:.
  10. Cook prunes in water until soft.
  11. Drain and remove pits.
  12. Mash prunes and add sugar, vanilla and cinnamon.
  13. Let cool.
  14. Cottage Cheese filling:.
  15. Mix dry cottage cheese, egg yolk, sugar and vanilla until well combined. Let set until ready to fill kolace.
