Fancy Banana French Toast

Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. In a bowl, slices bananas to desired thickness
  2. Toss with lemon juice
  3. Arrange 6 bread slices in a greased rectangle or square casserole dish
  4. Top bread slices with a layer of bananas, chocolate chips, and then cover with remaining bread slices
  5. In a mixing bowl combine eggs, milk, honey, vanilla and cinnamon
  6. Stir well
  7. Pour slowly over bread slices, coating evenly.
  8. Cover with plastic wrap and chill in refrigerator for 6-24 hours
  9. Preheat oven to 425 degrees
  10. Uncover dish
  11. Sprinkle bread slices with almonds and sugar
  12. Bake 5 minutes
  13. Reduce heat to 325 degrees
  14. Bake 20-25 minutes
  15. Let stand for 10 minutes
  16. Serve with maple syrup if desired
