Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Boil sugar, syrup and water to hard ball stage on candy thermometer.
  2. While this is cooking, beat egg whites until stiff.
  3. Pour syrup in a slow stream over beaten egg whites and beat until mixture begins to thicken.
  4. Add coconut, cherries and nuts.
  5. Cool slightly and form into egg shapes using confectioner's sugar to keep from sticking to the hands.
  6. When cold, dip in melted semi-sweet chocolate.
  7. (I would use a small amount of paraffin melted with the chocolate to help harden it).
