Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1/4 cup white sugar , plus
  • 2 tbsp white sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar , plus
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup dandelion flowers
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

Directions:

  1. Mix together the sugars + shortening until creamy.
  2. Add vanilla and egg and beat well.
  3. Mix all dry ingredients including petals.
  4. Drop by spoonfuls or roll into balls about 1/2 inch diameter on ungreased cookie sheet. 375* for about 7 minutes or til golden brown.
