Ingredients:

  • 1 cup shortening
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 4 cups flour
  • 1 tsp salt

Directions:

  1. Cream shortening and sugar.
  2. Blend in egg, syrup and vanilla.
  3. Add flour, salt and baking powder, sifted together and beat well.
  4. Shape into 1-inch balls and coat with white sugar.
  5. Bake for 10 minutes in 350 degrees oven.
