Ingredients:

  • 3 cups acorn squash
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 pinch salt

Directions:

  1. Cut the squash into 1 inch cubes.
  2. Sprinkle on the mace and salt.
  3. Add sugar, butter and water, which should completely cover the squash.
  4. Simmer slowly until the squash appears transparent and has taken in the butter and sugar.
