Chocolate Valentine Sweet Heart

Ingredients:

  • 2 1 oz semisweet chocolate squares
  • 3 1 oz unsweetened chocolate squares
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • food coloring, if desired
  • 1 tsp milk
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease 9" heart shaped cake pan. Line bottom of pan with wax paper. Grease paper. Combine butter and unsweetened chocolate squares and microwave to melt. Combine with eggs, sugar, and vanilla. Beat 1 min. Stir in flour and salt. Pour into pan. Bake 35 min or til toothpick comes out clean. Cool on rack 15 min. Remove pan and cool completely.
  2. Microwave 2 Tbsp butter and semisweet chocolate. Place cake on rack over sheet of wax paper. Pour on glaze and spread over top and sides with a metal spatula. Refrigerate til set (about 30 min).
  3. Combine powdered sugar and milk. Stir til smooth, adding more milk 1/4 tsp. at a time til thin enough to pipe. Add food coloring if desired. Spoon into pastry bag and pipe design on cake. Decorate with chocolate nonpareil candies if desired.
