Ingredients:

  • 3 - tablepoons black tea leaves or 2 tea bags
  • 2 - tsp salt
  • 1 - quart boiling water
  • 5 - tablepoons soy sauce
  • 1-1/2 tsp anise seed
  • 1 - cinnamon stick
  • 2 - tsp sugar

Directions:

  1. HARD BOIL THE DOZEN EGGS AND REMOVE SHELLS CAREFULLY SO NOT TO BREAK THE WHITES.
  2. POUR THE BOILING WATER OVER THE TEA AND STEEP FOR 10 MINUTES.
  3. STRAIN THE TEA AND ADD THE ANISE SEEDS, SOY SAUCE,AND SALT, SUGAR AND CINNAMON STICK;
  4. ADD PEELED EGGS AND SIMMER AT LEAST 2 HOURS.
  5. ADDING HOT WATER IF NEEDED TO KEEP EGGS COVERED.
  6. CHILL IN THIS LIQUID MIXTURE BEFORE SERVING ........
  7. NOTE; ......IF EGGS ARE KEPT COVERED WITH THE LIQUID THEY WILL KEEP A VERY LONG TIME IN REFRIGERATOR
  8. THSE EGGS ARE DIFFERENT AND A VERY GOOD APPETIZER, THEY LOOK LIKE VERY LARGE RIPE OLIVES…….. AND ARE PRETTY TO LOOK AT…. LIKE A SPIDERWEB DESIGN
