Directions:

  1. Combine sugar, applesauce, oil, and eggs in a large mixing bowl; beat at medium speed of electric mixer 1 minute. Set mixture aside.
  2. Combine flour, baking powder, soda, salt, and spices; add to applesauce mixture, beating until smooth. Stir in pecans.
  3. Spoon batter into a greased 8 1/2- x 4 1/2- x 3-inch loaf pan. Bake at 375° for 1 hour and 5 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pan 10 minutes; remove from pan, and cool on wire rack.
