Caramelized Pear Tart

Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F.
  2. Peel, core and halve the pears.
  3. Melt butter in 8 or 9 cast iron skillet.
  4. Arrange pears on top of butter in skillet, cut-side up, wide end at rim.
  5. Sprinkle pears with cinnamon.
  6. Cook without stirring over medium heat until sugar caramelizes.
  7. Cool completely in skillet.
  8. Roll pie crust into an 11 round.
  9. Arrange crust over pears making sure to tuck edges around fruit well.
  10. Bake in the middle of the oven for 30 to 35 minutes.
  11. Remove from oven.
  12. IMMEDIATELY turn onto serving plate.
  13. Garnish with leftover pears.
  14. Serve with whipped cream dollops and/or ice cream.
