Ingredients:

  • 4 cups scalded milk
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 loaf bread
  • 2 tsp cinnamon or 1/2 tsp nutmeg or 1/2 cup raisins

Directions:

  1. This will take at least 1/2 loaf of bread.
  2. Mix eggs, sugar, salt, & vanilla.
  3. Add scalded milk.
  4. Wet the bread with water but squeeze as much of it out as possible.
  5. Make layers of bread, covering with above mixture.
  6. Sprinkle good with cinnamon and/or nutmeg, and add raisins if desired.
  7. Bake in a greased oven safe bowl in an oven at 350 degrees for 50-55 minutes until pudding is set.
