Boiled Raisin Cookies

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup water
  • 2 cups raisins
  • 1 cup margarine
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 4 cups flour
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp allspice

Directions:

  1. Boil raisins in water for 5 minutes.
  2. Cream margarine, add sugar, cream well.
  3. Beat eggs until light and fluffy.
  4. Add vanilla and raisins (with water).
  5. Add dry ingredients.
  6. One cup of chopped nuts can be added at this time.
  7. Drop by teaspoons onto a greased cookie sheet.
  8. Bake at 350°F for 15 minutes, depending on size of cookies.
