Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Combine chocolate wafer crumbs and butter, mixing well; firmly press into bottom and 1 inch up sides of a 9-inch springform pan.
  2. Beat cream cheese with electric mixer until light and fluffy.
  3. Gradually add sugar, mixing well.
  4. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  5. Stir in kirsch, and mix until blended.
  6. Pour into prepared pan.
  7. Bake at 400 degrees F.
  8. For 10 minutes and then at 200 degrees F for 1 hour.
  9. Let cake cool to room temperature in the oven.
  10. Place chocolate in top of a double boiler; bring water to a boil.
  11. Reduce heat to low; cook until chocolate melts.
  12. Cool slightly.
  13. Stir in sour cream.
  14. Spread chocolate mixture evenly over top.
  15. Chill thoroughly.
  16. Garnish with whipped cream and maraschino cherries with stems, if desired.
