Ingredients:

  • 32- oz. water
  • 1- oz. celery seed
  • 1.75-oz. ground double superfine mustard
  • 1.4- oz. mustard seed (add gradually while cooking)
  • 5- lbs. shrimp (peeled )
  • 1/2 cup salt (add last 4 minutes)

Directions:

  1. In a large stock pot (10-12 quarts) combine together the vinegar, water, celery seed, red pepper, ground mustard, a small portion of the mustard seed, and bring mixture to a rapid boil. reduce heat to maintain medium boil. Add shrimp to mixture, cover and boil 12-13 minutes. Stir periodically and add mustard seed gradually throughout cooking time. Stir in salt during last 4 minutes of cooking time. Pour into colander, cool and refrigerate overnight before serving
