  1. Peel potatoes then slice into thin slices.
  2. Heat butter and oil in heavy skillet then spread thin layer of potatoes into fat and cook for 5 minutes.
  3. Then layer onion rings and remaining potato slices in skillet and turn with broad spatula.
  4. Cook potatoes until golden brown then turn again.
  5. Cook and turn until potatoes are crisp and brown then season with salt and pepper.
