Ingredients:

  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 cups water

Directions:

  1. Measure flour, salt and baking soda into large bowl. Stir to mix.
  2. Pour melted butter and water over flour mixture. Stir with fork to make a ball. Turn out onto working surface. Knead gently about 10 times. Pat into a flat circle 3/4 to 1 inch thick. Cook in greased frying pan over medium heat allowing about 15 minutes each side. Use two lifters for easy turning. Serve hot with butter. Break off chunks or slice with knife. May also be baked on greased baking sheet in 350F oven for 25 to 30 minutes.
  3. Note: Bacon or beef drippings may be used instead of butter
