Aunt Mary's Christmas Filled Cookies

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup chopped dates
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 1/4 tsp lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup pecans

Directions:

  1. Mix up Christmas sugar cookie dough.
  2. When dough is thoroughly chilled, combine remaining ingredients and cook for five minutes. Remove from heat and cool before using.
  3. Roll out dough and cut half of the dough with a plain round cutter and the other half with a doughnut cutter of the same diameter. Spread the plain rounds with fruit filling and top with remaining rounds. Press together and bake as directed.
