Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1 1/3 cups packed brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup raisins

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Grease cookie sheets.
  2. Cream shortening, sugar and egg. Add half of the dry ingredients.
  3. Blend in milk and remaining dry ingredients.
  4. Add nuts, raisins, apples and mix.
  5. Drop on greased cookie sheet. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes. Let cool and spread with Vanilla Glaze (see recipe).
