Ingredients:

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 tbsp boric acid
  • 3 cups warm water

Directions:

  1. Mix the sugar and boric acid well.
  2. Add the warm water slowly, mixing all the while so it won't be too lumpy.
  3. Store in a jar until ready to use.
  4. When ready to use, put cotton into the top of a jar lid to fill it and then saturate the cotton to the top.
  5. Place it in the location where it is needed.
  6. Note: This solution will keep for a long while. A good technique is to drip a drop or two over the edge of the lid to rest on the counter so the ants will find the solution sooner.
  7. It sometimes takes a little while for them to find it, but find it they will. When they do, do not disturb them as they drink.
  8. They will hang over the edge of the lid and drink for a while and then take it back to the nest killing the colony.
  9. Almost overnight they will be gone.

  13. NOTES From Others:
  14. *Lime works put around your house, Comet also.
  15. *Borax and sugar 50/50 , or borax and salt also 50/50. Works great!
  16. *I have used this and it works wonders! We used Borax laundry soap. Please make sure you have it out of reach of your pets though.
  17. *I already use this and even the cockroaches and palmetto bugs die when then get into this stuff.
  18. *borax and molasses.... and borax and corn syrup, work as well
  19. *Someone told me once, lemon juice. Can you imagine? Your first thought is, no it's sticky and will draw ants. But lo and behold it works. Something about the acid. I just took a regular lemon and squeezed the juice along the trail of ants.
  20. *Try it with jelly and the acid
  21. *Bugs out of garden- rim the garden with marigold flowers.
  22. *I always feel bad killing the poor little things but I suppose if they ignore the do not enter sign, that's what they get.
