Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups unsifted flour
  • 3/4 cup butter, cold
  • 1 cup slivered almonds

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°.
  2. In medium bowl, combine flour and sugar; cut in margarine until crumbly.
  3. Firmly press onto the bottom of a 13x9-inch baking pan.
  4. Bake 15 minutes.
  5. While baking, in a large bowl, combine condensed milk, egg and almond extract; mix well.
  6. Stir in toffee and almonds.
  7. Spread mixture evenly over crust and bake for 25 minutes, or until golden.
  8. Let cool before cutting into bars.
