All Clammed Up Clam Chowder

Ingredients:

  • 3 slices bacon
  • 3 tbsp flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 dash pepper
  • 3 (15 oz) cans clams
  • 1 (8 oz) bottle clam juice
  • 3/4 cup powdered milk
  • 2 cups water

Directions:

  1. Cook the bacon til crisp; drain on paper towel.
  2. Crumble and set aside.
  3. Cook onion in the bacon grease until translucent.
  4. Stir in the flour, salt and pepper.
  5. Cook 1 minute.
  6. Lower heat til very low.
  7. Drain the clams reserving the juice.
  8. In a separate pan, cook the potatoes in the clam liquid and water.
  9. When potatoes are tender, put the potatoes, liquid, dry milk in with the flour mix.
  10. Bring to boiling; stir while it thickens.
  11. Add clams and bacon; heat 5 minutes more.
  12. Serve.
