1931 Coconut Patties

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 cups coconut
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 3 tbsp cocoa
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts
  • 1 tbsp butter

Directions:

  1. Combine sugar and cocoa.
  2. Add milk and water.
  3. Boil to soft ball stage (234-238).
  4. Cool to room temp.
  5. Add coconut and nuts.
  6. Add butter and flavoring.
  7. Beat until mixture begins to thicken.
  8. Drop onto waxed paper by tablespoonfuls.
  9. This is an old recipe and dosen't give cooking time,I'm posting how long it takes me.
