Ingredients:

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1/4 cup shortening
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 3 large eggs

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Grease and flour 13 x 9-inch pan.
  3. Beat all ingredients on low speed, scraping sides, 30 seconds.
  4. Beat on high 3 minutes.
  5. Pour into pans.
  6. Bake for 40- 45 minutes, or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
  7. Cool 10 minutes, remove from pan; cool completely.
