Vanilla Glazed Apple Cookies

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1 1/3 cups packed brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. ground cloves
  • 1 cup finely diced apple
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 2-4 tbsp. milk

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400
  2. Cream shortening and sugar in mixing bowl
  3. Beat in egg and milk
  4. In another mixing bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and spices
  5. Gradually add flour mixture to sugar mixture
  6. Stir in apples, walnuts and raisins
  7. Drop by round tablespoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheet 2 inches apart
  8. Bake 8-10 minutes
  9. Cool on baking racks
  10. Glaze
  11. Add all ingredients to mixing bowl using enough milk to get drizzling consistency
  12. Drizzle over cookies
