Strawberry Streusel Bars

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 (12 oz) package semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 (10 oz) jar strawberry jam
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 cup sifted powdered sugar
  • 1 tbsp milk

Directions:

  1. Beat butter and 1 cup sugar in large mixer bowl until fluffy. Beat in egg. Beat in 2 cups flour. Stir in 1 cup chocolate chips.
  2. Spread mixture in greased and floured 13 X 9 inch baking pan.
  3. Spread jam evenly over mixture in pan, leaving 1/2 inch border.
  4. Combine 1 cup flour and 1/4 cup sugar in medium bowl. Cut in 1/4 cup butter until mixture is crumbly. Stir in remaining chocolate chips. Sprinkle streusel evenly over preserves.
  5. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 to 45 minutes or until top is golden brown.
  6. Cool in pan on wire rack. Cut into bars.
  7. Combine powdered sugar, milk and vanilla in small bowl. Drizzle over bars; let stand until set.
