Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup red wine
  • 1 (15 oz) can green beans, drained
  • 2 tbsp raisins
  • 1 (16 oz) can stewed tomatoes
  • 1 (4 oz) can tomato paste
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp dill
  • 1/2 tsp clove
  • 1/2 tsp sage
  • 1/4 tsp cumin
  • 1/4 tsp celery salt
  • 2 tbsp flour

Directions:

  1. Heat oil in a Dutch oven. Brown beef cubes in 2 batches, then saute chopped onion in same pan.
  2. Add remaining ingredients except flour, mixing well.
  3. Bring to boil, reduce heat to simmer, cover and let simmer for 2 hours.
  4. Remove bay leaf.
  5. Mix 2 tablespoons flour with 1/2 cup cold water. Slowly stir this into stew, stirring well to thicken gravy. Simmer 5 minutes more.
