Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups vegetable oil
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 medium chopped onion
  • 2 quarts water
  • 2 dozen crabs (cleaned)
  • 1 quart oyster , reserve liquid from s (drained)

Directions:

  1. Brown flour in a frying pan with oil until it turns brown.
  2. This is called a Roux.
  3. Add your onions Cook them until they are soft.
  4. Pour into a bigger pot, add your water and the liquid from oysters.
  5. Cook to boil and then add your shrimp, crabs, salt and pepper.
  6. Boil 20 minutes, then add the oysters.
  7. Add enough water to make the amount of liquid you would want for your meal.
  8. Cook the oysters about 10 minutes.
  9. Add your file powder and its ready to eat.
  10. Serve over rice.
