Quickie  Caramel Ice Cream

Ingredients:

  • 16 fl oz pouring custard (shop-bought will do. it must not be too thick)
  • 4 -6 oz roughly chopped-up chocolate candy bars (to taste, of the kind which contain nuts or toffee or nutty chocolate)
  • 8 fl oz fresh cream , whipped until quite firm

Directions:

  1. Mix the custard with the caramel until well mixed.
  2. Stir in the chopped-up chocolate bars of your choice.
  3. Fold in the whipped cream.
  4. Freeze in a suitable container until firm.
  5. Yield: about 1 quart/4 cups/1 litre.
