  1. Combine the corn syrup, sugar, butter and egg in a heavy saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly. Boil for 2 minutes without stirring.
  2. Remove from heat, stir in vanilla and pecans. Serve warm or at room temperature.
