Ingredients:

  • 1/3 cup shortening
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 3/4 cup orange juice
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda

Directions:

  1. Blend shortening and sugar.
  2. Add eggs and beat.
  3. Stir in orange peel, juice, and milk.
  4. Mix dry ingredients together.
  5. Add dry ingredients to other ingredients.
  6. Stir just until mixed together.
  7. Pour into greased muffin cups.
  8. Bake at 400 degrees F for 25-30 minutes, watching carefully.
