Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Chop the cabbage finely and then sprinkle with sugar.
  2. Place half of the cabbage in a container, cover with onion slices, then cover with the remaining cabbage.
  3. Prepare the dressing (see below) and pour it over the cabbage while still hot - DO NOT MIX!
  4. Cover and refrigerate immediately.
  5. Chill for 24 hours before tossing and serving.
  6. - To prepare the dressing:
  7. In a saucepan, combine all the ingredients for the dressing except the oil.
  8. Bring to the boiling point, then add the oil, mix and return to the boiling point before removing from the heat and allowing to cool slightly.
