Old Fashioned Vinegar Pie

Ingredients:

  • 3 eggs
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp vinegar
  • 1 1/2 cups hot water
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 3/4 cup chopped toasted walnuts or 3/4 cup pecans , etc

Directions:

  1. Combine sugar, flour, and salt in medium bowl.
  2. Beat eggs until very light, then add butter, vinegar, and hot water.
  3. Add dry ingredients and blend well.
  4. Cook over double boiler, stirring constantly until thick.
  5. Add 1/2 cup nuts.
  6. Pour into pie shell and sprinkle with remaining nuts.
  7. Supposed to be one of the most delicious pies .
