Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Cream together sugar and shortening.
  2. Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  3. Combine flour, baking powder and salt in a separate bowl and stir together.
  4. Reserve a small amount of the flour mixture and mix in the nuts.
  5. Combine orange juice and vanilla extract.
  6. Add flour mixture and juice mixture alternately to creamed mixture, starting and ending with flour mixture.
  7. (I do flour-liquid-flour-liquid-flour).
  8. Stir in floured nuts.
  9. Pour batter into a greased and floured loaf pan and bake in a preheated 350F oven about 50 minutes, or until tester inserted in center comes out clean.
