Ingredients:

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup molasses
  • 1 cup shortening
  • 6 cups flour
  • 1 tsp ginger
  • 1/2 cup hot water
  • 1 egg

Directions:

  1. Mix ingredients together.
  2. Let stand in cool place for 1 hour.
  3. Roll into 1-inch balls and flatten with fork.
  4. Bake at 350 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes.
