Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup hot water
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400°.
  2. Arrange apples in a buttered 8 x 8 or 9 x 9 pan.
  3. Pour water over apples.
  4. Mix flour and sugar and use a pastry blender to blend in butter. These ingredients can also be placed in a food processor. Blend until mixture looks like fine crumbs.
  5. Sprinkle over apples.
  6. Bake for 40 - 45 minutes until apples are tender and top is golden brown.
