Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup shortening
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 tsp soda
  • 1/2 tsp cloves
  • 1/2 tsp ginger
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • 3 tsp cinnamon

Directions:

  1. Mix in order given.
  2. Roll in 1-inch balls.
  3. Roll in a sugar and cinnamon mixture.
  4. Bake on greased cookie sheet and press down lightly.
  5. Bake at 350 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes.
